Hi, Do you every feel you just can’t find a fit? For a long time I put on the garments of this world and they wouldn’t fit. Sometimes, I even thought they fit, but they just weight me down. I couldn’t fit in any of the garments of the world. I tried the garment of my friends. I tried what the world wanted me to wear and to conform to. Just because the media said it was good, funny, or ok, I thought it was the right fit, but it still didn’t feel comfortable. Well, that wasn’t the garment for me. The fit was just too big and clumpy for me. It was uncomfortable. I would try one garment after another. I also thought jewelry would help. Because of not being able to find the right fit, I chose to wear the wrong garments. This took me down many paths, which lend me further away from my created purpose. You ever notice, we tend to look at peoples value from their garments. Evaluating who they are by what they wear, but it so far from the truth. We see a business man in a business suit, so we expect him to be all business understanding. We see a Policeman thinking he has all goodness and kindness thinking, but in reality he maybe struggling with something too. But what does it look like, to have put on the right fitting garment. The garment that feels so right for you. Lets briefly, look at what our Creator has to say. Colossians 3:5-14
“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature; Sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these , the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from you lips. Do not lie to each other , since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people , holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
Wow, we have to rid ourselves of such things. Why? because it weights us down and it’s not our garment. It just doesn’t fit us right. God is telling us it’s not for us. Let’s put on that garment that is meant only for us.
