At times, you may feel just like an empty claim shell, nothing inside, nothing to offer. Let’s look a little closer.
The oyster’s natural reaction is to cover up that irritant to protect itself. The mantle covers the irritant with layers of the same nacre substance that is used to create the shell. This eventually forms a pearl. So a pearl is a foreign substance covered with layers of nacre.
Sometimes we cover over emotions, hurts, anger, etc. and form something we are not sure is beneficial to our lives. We don’t even recognize it, it may come out when we least expect. Could this be renewed? I mean, it is in us, it’s part of who we are. It could be layers and layers of nacre. Look how the Pearl is formed.
Freshwater pearls can take between 1 and 6 years to form; whereas saltwater may take between 5 and 20 years. The longer a pearl stays in the shell, the more nacre that forms and the larger the pearl.
Whew, that is a mighty long time to form. So just like the pearl it takes time. The process for developing your talents, your outlook on yourself will take a bit of time too. A new habit takes approximately 66 days. It depends on what we want to change. We want a new Heart in ourselves how do we do this. Psalm 51:10 ” Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” We want to cultivate, nurture our heart to have good motives. We want that irritant removed. Remember God turns the bad to the good purpose. Romans: 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”. and in Genesis 50:20 ” As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Know this everything that can (happen) also is and can be turned to the good for the God’s purpose. We have to be willing and open to receive this. It’s on our part to ask and receive.
